An English introduction to Pausefiskeren.dk
Even if the pale, Danish Pausefiskeren might
have tendencies of megalomania it’s kind of
weird to make an English intro to such a small,
Danish site! But especially since I met Wayne
from
www.realsreels.com about my work with
www.grejsamler.dk – and he nicely presented
me on his site – I’ve been thinking about an
international presentation of Pausefiskeren.dk.
SO … here’s a little translation, hoping it’s
pulling the picture of my life in cyberspace –
and the real world - bigger for you!
These are the categories you can find on this
site:
Pralepladsen
– ”The Place to Brag” … where friends of
Pausefiskeren (AND sometimes also “him self”!)
are presenting nice catches of fish … small
fish, big fish, colourful fish, fish with a
story to tell … all kinds of fishy photos are
very welcome! You want to join Pralepladsen?
Just send a picture of your catch with notes of
date, the place of catch, the lure, the length
and weight (And maybe a little story about the
catch?) … to
pausefiskeren@webspeed.dk !
På
tur med Pausefiskeren
– “On Tour with the Pausefisker” - Looking over
the shoulder of Pausefiskeren when he’s going
fishing on locations in Denmark.
Fiskekongerne
– “Kings of Fishermen” - proud fishy brothers
joined together in "TEAM CHICKEN PRO ANGLERS
ASSOCIATION" - Four old friends from school
days in the city of Esbjerg
(Social educators)
- We are still getting together once a
year to fish The “Just-Check-The-Worm Cup”, where the
winner of the weird trophies is called “King of
Fishermen”! And the wives and kids are having
fun too!
Pausefisk –
“Take-a-break-fish” … a little photo gallery
where nature meets culture, a nice fish … or
just because it’s a nice picture! The name
“Pausefisk” is inspired by a fish tank from
which the Danish television was sending LIVE
between the broadcasts in the early 1980’s … Do
you have a picture that could make good vibes to
a mental break? Just mail it to
pausefiskeren@webspeed.dk !
Artikler & Historier
–
“Articles & Stories” … Pausefiskeren and
friends are writing about fishing – and there’s
lots of space for your adventures too!
Pausefiskeren Propaganda
–
that’s an act of megalomania! Ever since a very
young Pausefisker didn’t make it into the world
of advertising and public relations he has
dreamt of revenge! But entirely satisfied with
his education as social educator and actual job
it just pops up once in a while – like being
webmaster or mastering the newsletter for a
little fishing club.
Onkel Finns Mosteri
–
”The Juicy Schnapps of Uncle Finn” …
Pausefiskeren is putting nature in the liquor! A
very tasty tradition with herbs, flowers and
vodka! With inspiration from ancient medicine,
Danish culture and a little witchcraft! Skål!
Månedens øl –
”Beer of the month” … Pausefiskeren likes a good
pint of beer and he’s very exited about all the
new little breweries in Denmark. Some of the
best experiences are presented here!
Bundbid –
“Snagged again” - A short introduction to the
little fishing club where the Pausefisker got
his name!
L.A.D.A. –
“The Athletic Dart Amateurs” (With no relations
to the Russian built cars!) … Pausefiskeren &
his neighbours are tumbling together in the
wintertime twice a month to enjoy themselves
with stories, jokes, coffee and a cold beer! …
Oh, and a game or two of electronic Dart!
Links
–
Pausefiskeren shows his links to interests and
friends in cyberspace.
Onkel Finns Tegnestue
–
“The Drawing Office of Uncle Finn” …
Pausefiskeren as a wannabe-artist with the
pencil! Click on the text under the drawings to
get the drawings larger! Free download of “the
art” to make a colouring book for the kids! Need
a cartoon? Mail to the fishy illustrator!
Hvem hunden er
Pausefiskeren –
”Who the …… is Pausefiskeren?” … a short
presentation of the webmaster of this site.
Ugens-boble-arkivet
–
”Archive for Quote (Bubble) of the week” … especially
fishy thoughts and perspectives of life!
BONUS: The short intro to …
Pausefiskeren? What kind of name is that? –
In the mid-1990’s the fisherman former known as
Finn established a reputation of winning some
angling contests with very little use of skills
and effort. In fact he won at least two contests
as he was eating his lunch! In very short time
the reputation as a
“fishing-on-a-break-fisherman” was running down
the stream … So just: Take a break – and catch a
fish!
